Board of Trustees

Mr. Brennan joined the Board of Trustees in 2008. He has over 30 years experience in humanitarian and developmental interventions (rural development, refugee affairs, disaster response and reduction); in-depth knowledge of Southeast Asia; and an extensive background in cross-cultural settings. He has served the United Nations Development Programme as Regional Disaster Reduction Advisor, Bangkok, and was the Senior Regional Advisor for Asia while working with the U.S. Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (USAID) in Manila. Leadership roles with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees include Head of the Sub-offices in Arua, Uganda and Kigoma, Tanzania. He has worked with the World Bank in Malaysia, the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C., and USAID in Tanzania, Indonesia, and Vietnam. He served for two years as a volunteer in the U.S. Peace Corps in Sarawak, Malaysia. Mr. Brenna received an Award for Valor from the U.S. Department of State and an Outstanding Achievement Award from the U.S. Embassy, Ethiopia.
