Justin brings a background in structural and earthquake engineering and professional journalism to his work as Project Manager for GHI. A licensed professional engineer in California, Justin has evaluated dozens of existing buildings for their seismic strength and designed retrofit schemes for those that were found to be deficient. As a journalist, he has written extensively on urban planning, infrastructure and environmental issues in developing countries, particularly in Ghana, West Africa, where he lived for nearly three years. Justin has a post-graduate diploma in journalism from the London School of Journalism, a Master's of Engineering in civil engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a Bachelor's of Science in structural engineering from the University of California at San Diego.
