Hundreds of rare and precious manuscripts and other items belonging to the Tibetan
community in exile are stored in this building. Because the building and its storage systems were not
originally designed to withstand strong earthquake motion, GHI seeks funding to complete a project that
will improve their earthquake resistance. Until then, these important cultural treasures will be at risk. |
