Board of Trustees
GHI’s Board of Trustees is comprised of experienced professionals with diverse backgrounds, including earthquake science and engineering, international development, architecture, law, finance, and urban planning. Each has longstanding, strong ties in academic, business or government sectors.
Palo Alto, California
Christopher Rojahn joined the Board of Trustees in 2016. He has more than 40 years of experience in the field of structural engineering. During his 34-year tenure as Executive Director of the Applied Technology Council and 10-year tenure as a Research Civil Engineer at the U.S. Geological Survey, he played a key leadership role in research and development projects to reduce the impacts of natural and manmade hazards on the built environment. He served as Principal Investigator/Project Manager/Senior Advisor on more than 100 major research and development projects and organized numerous major workshops, seminars and conferences on important technical issues in earthquake and structural engineering. Chris has testified before the U.S. Congress and has advised the White House Office of Science Technology Policy on earthquake hazard mitigation. He has an Engineer Degree and a M.S. Degree in Civil Engineering (Structures) from Stanford University, and a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University.
