Board of Trustees
GHI’s Board of Trustees is comprised of experienced professionals with diverse backgrounds, including earthquake science and engineering, international development, architecture, law, finance, and urban planning. Each has longstanding, strong ties in academic, business or government sectors.
Gordon H. Chong
Gordon was the founder of Chong Partners Architecture, recognized in 2007 as the 57th largest architectural, urban design and interior design firm in the U.S.A. The firm specialized in the design of health care, higher education, civic, air transportation and institutional facilities. The firm was acquired by an International Design firm in 2007.
By example, clients included Kaiser Permanente Hospitals, multiple campuses for the University of California, Stanford University, The California Academy of Science and United Airlines.
In 2002, Gordon served as the National President of The American Institute of Architects. As America’s spokesperson for the profession, he received Medals of Honor for his International contributions from Japan, Korea, Canada and Mexico.
Gordon was selected as a Fellow of the AIA, as recipient of the Benjamin Latrobe Research Award and has served as President of The Academy of Neuroscience for Architecture (ANFA) . He has served as a Commissioner on many City and California State Commissions, as a Trustee of a private college and as an advisor to Institutions and corporations. He has been a frequent speaker at international conferences and is a published author of his research.
