Pierre-Yves Gardère joined the Board of Trustees in 2014. A native of Haiti, he is an entrepreneur with global business interests, having started and run numerous companies. He is currently CEO of Peintures Caraibes SA, which has a production facility in the new manufacturing center at Caracol, in northern Haiti. He has invested in several ventures that employ Haitians, and he is committed to building a more prosperous, resilient future for Haiti. He started Sisal Co SA to manufacture and export ballir twine ropes and fabrics. He formed a partnership with Veve Collections Canada to export Haitian artisan products. Pierre-Yves served previously as director of the Haiti Foundation and is an active supporter of Musée du Panthéon National Haïtien. He speaks French, English, Creole and Spanish, and he has a deep understanding of Caribbean politics, history and economics.
