Ouch! Recent cuts to U.S. humanitarian aid mean that we now face a severe reduction to our program in Nepal. The timing could not beworse. Today marks three years since Nepal's devastating magnitude 7.8 earthquake. Our hearts go out to the many families still struggling
Close to 9,000 people died, mostly in collapsed buildings. I recall that day vividly because I was in Kathmandu, terrified, as my hotel writhed and shook.
Last week, a donor mentioned to me that his little girl is terrified of earthquakes. I get that, although she's pretty safe at her home in the U.S. It's quite another story in a developing country.

That's why I'm so grateful to you. Your support gives people in poor countries the training and inspiration they need to make their communities safer from disaster.
I'm writing today to ask for your support for our WeCare2018 Challenge. So plans for a safer future can move forward in Nepal and other vulnerable communities.
Our work today in Nepal is vitally important. Scientists investigating the 2015 earthquake quickly sounded an alarm. They expect a very large earthquake, on segments of the same fault, but in the westernmost part of the country.
We are working with communities there so they understand their very high risk and take steps to prepare. But now, funding is cut by $200,000 over the next two years. Would you consider a generous gift, to help close the gap?
Corporate supporters and our Board of Trustees will match donations up to $75,000 until May 31.
This is a fantastic opportunity to double the impact of your support, dollar-for-dollar. Can I count on you to help us meet this challenge?
GeoHazards International has been inspiring disaster safety since its founding over 25 years ago. Your support is needed now more than ever, to save lives and end preventable death and suffering from natural disasters--in Nepal and other vulnerable, underserved
On behalf of our worldwide team and the people we serve, thank you so much for your generous donation.
