Duckhens Lespérance

Field Engineer

Anse-à-Veau, Haiti

Duckhens Lespérance is a civil engineer who is native to and based in Anse-à-Veau, Haiti, on Haiti’s southern peninsula. When a devastating earthquake struck near Port-au-Prince in 2010, he was in the midst of his university engineering studies in the capital. Seeing firsthand the damages caused by the earthquake, and the thousands of collapsed houses, he opted to pursue civil engineering. He now has more than 10 years of engineering experience in the construction of buildings and public works in Haiti, including the construction and repair of numerous school buildings and assessment of other critical infrastructure.
