GHI’s  staff is comprised of experienced professionals with diverse backgrounds, including earthquake science, engineering, medicine, law, communications, finance and international development. 

Upama Ojha manages GeoHazards International’s project work in Nepal and is based in Kathmandu. She has a background in physics and disaster risk management, and she served as a coordinator for a network of I/NGOs working to reduce disaster risk in Nepal, for other national and local stakeholders working to reduce disaster risk in Nepal, and as a disaster risk reduction expert in an NGO working mostly to mitigate earthquake-induced risk. She holds a M.Sc. degree in disaster risk management from Tribhuvan University, an M.Sc. degree in physics from Delhi University, and a B.Sc. degree in physics from Tribhuvan University. A native of Kathmandu, she speaks fluent Nepali, English with additional proficiency in Hindi.
