Board of Trustees
GHI’s Board of Trustees is comprised of experienced professionals with diverse backgrounds, including earthquake science and engineering, international development, architecture, law, finance, and urban planning. Each has longstanding, strong ties in academic, business or government sectors.
Bill Churney is responsible for setting global strategy and overseeing worldwide operations of the extreme event solutions team at Verisk. Bill joined the team in 2002 and has extensive experience working with companies to better understand their risk management processes and identify ways to implement analytics to improve catastrophe risk management. He has led groups that have significantly increased the use of models in many markets, including in the U.S. and Latin America. Bill holds a BA in economics from Haverford College and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
