GHI’s  staff is comprised of experienced professionals with diverse backgrounds, including earthquake science, engineering, medicine, law, communications, finance and international development. 

Aparajita Acharya brings, over 2 decades of experience in communications, non-profit development and comparative policy research. Aparajita is an avid storyteller and film maker. At GeoHazards International, as a part of the Development & Communications team, she also handles graphic and web designing, event management, maintains donor relations and runs the annual fundraising campaign.

In the past, she has worked with organizations such as USAID, International Committee of the RedCross, Care International and National Peace Campaign, Nepal. Aparajita has a Master's in Social Policy from The University of Sydney, Australia and a Bachelor's in English Literature and Sociology from Tribhuwan University, Nepal.

Aparajita is fluent in English and Nepali, and conversational in Hindi and Urdu languages.
