Dr. Mario A. Cudiamat serves as a Consulting Marine Ecologist of GeoHazards International (GHI)’s Philippine Projects. He is also an Assistant Professor of Ecology in the Environmental Biology Division of the Institute of Biological Sciences, University of the Philippines Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines. He has been in the field of instruction, research, and extension for 16 years. Mau finished his Master of Science in Fisheries (Marine Botany and Ecology) degree at Pangasinan State University and his Doctor of Philosophy in Biology major in Environmental Biology at De La Salle University. He also serves on a pro-bono basis as mangrove specialist and conservation biologist of Calatagan Mangrove Forest Conservation Park, a community-based marine protected area in Calatagan, Batangas. His research interests and public service revolve around mangrove biodiversity, climate change adaptation and mitigation, gender and development, biodiversity conservation, marine fisheries, and environmental education.
