Marie Coralyn Fernandez serves as the Field Officer of GeoHazards International (GHI)’s Philippine Projects, acting as the organization’s local contact person. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, where she developed a strong foundation in marine ecology, fisheries management, and environmental conservation. During her college years, she was an active student leader, serving as President (2024–2025) and Treasurer (2023–2024) of the Fisheries and Aquatic Environmentalists Organization, and took part in several research and outreach programs focused on coastal sustainability. Beyond the university, she is a founder of Mangrove Warriors in Calatagan, a youth-led initiative dedicated to mangrove rehabilitation and environmental education in coastal communities. As GHI’s Field Officer, she assists in designing, coordinating, and implementing local project activities, builds and manages partnerships, prepares technical and financial reports, and supports documentation and communication efforts for ongoing environmental initiatives.
